“Duende” - Flamenco-inspired technique and combinations
This 5-week, online, open level fusion belly dance series will be exploring powerful and soulful elements that can be borrowed from one of the most passionate dances - Flamenco. We will look at the powerful diagonals that are usually present in this dance, work on dynamic direction changes and incorporate some exciting footwork that is suitable for fusion with belly dance.
Each week will have a new combination to explore, and we will occasionally use a fan as well (this element is optional).
With lots of gentle drills and optional layers, we will work on deepening and strengthening our technique, creating clean lines in space and within our bodies, while exploring the exciting influence of Flamenco.
This class is open level: a lot of fun optional layers will be offered to the more experienced dancers.
All workshop registrants will receive HD video from each class, which will be accessible to you for 1 month after the live event.
WHEN: 5 Wednesdays, 7 to 8:30pm EST (9am Tokyo time) ,March 22, 29 April 12, 19 and 26th (skipping April 5), 2023
Recordings of the class will be made available for all dancers . You can take the whole series over video - live attendance is optional.
WHERE: This class is going to be taught via online, Zoom application and all class recordings will be forwarded to class participants.
COST: $80 for the complete workshop series. Partial registration is not allowed - videos of all classes will be sent to all participants.
Pre-registration is required and closes at 11.59pm, the day before the first class.
